CIPR rewards London councils
Camden: Council an award nominee
Matt Cartmell 12-Sep-08
London councils dominate the short-list this year's CIPR Local Government Excellence in Communications Awards.
Of the 83 nominations, 37 are from London councils or other public sector organisations, with Islington and Camden councils dominating with eight and seven nominations respectively.
The four ‘team of the year’ nominations are all London councils – Camden, Hackney, Islington and Lewisham.
Islington has been nominated for best media relations, best consultation campaign, best campaign and best London campaign for its ‘referendum – the people’s republic of Islington’.
Camden Council has been nominated in the media relations category for its work around the Camden market fire.
The awards feature two new categories – best London campaign and best campaign for hard to reach groups.
The winners will be announced on Friday 17 October at the Assembly Room in Bath.
