Nationwide has made three senior appointments to in-house comms division

Fiona MacAllan will become the building society's head of internal communications from 3 November. Previously she was global head of internal comms at Wolseley plc.

Caroline Hallatt has been made head of corporate responsibility, to focus on delivering a new CSR strategy. She has been at Nationwide since 2007 when the it merged with the Portman Building Society and was most recently head of community and environmental affairs.

Both will report to Maxine Taylor, divisional director, corporate affairs.

Additionally, Chris A'Court has been hired as senior manager, media relations and member engagement. He is currently assistant editor of BBC Radio 4's Money Box programme and has worked for the BBC for over 17 years. He will report to Alan Oliver, head of media relations and member engagement.

The moves come as the firm attempts to integrate recent acquisitions the Derbyshire and the Cheshire building societies. The press has speculated that the integration process will see a number of job cuts at the headquarters of the two acquired companies.
