DfID continues comms shake-up
Matt Cartmell 03-Apr-08
The Department for International Development (DfID) has appointed a temporary deputy head of news as part of its ongoing comms shake-up.
Charlotte Morgan has been seconded from the Department for Communities and Local Government and will maintain the newly created role for the next six months.
She has previously worked as a press secretary to Foreign Secretary David Miliband when he was a minister at the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister.
Last week, PRWeek revealed that BBC political correspondent James Hardy is to join DfID as head of news, reporting to director of comms Paul Mylrea.
As well as looking to hire a permanent deputy head of news role, Mylrea is also seeking a head of the features team and new press officers.
The department is headed by secretary of state Douglas Alexander.
