FSA comms chief set for top role at TfL
TfL: massive comms shake-up
The top PRO at the Financial Service Authority (FSA) is heading to Transport for London (TfL) to be its new MD of marketing and comms.
Vernon Everitt, currently FSA director of retail themes and sector leader for consumers, will move in October.
He takes the role vacated by Paul Mylrea, who moved to the Department for International Development (DfID) last year (PRWeek, 10 December, 2006).
Everitt is a FSA stalwart, having been at the authority for nine years, originally as head of internal comms, then head of media relations, before moving on to HR and comms roles.
Prior to working at the FSA Everitt was European Monetary Union project manager for banking supervision, at the Bank of England.
From 1998 to 2000 Everitt oversaw the ‘10-way merger’ through which the UK’s financial service super regulator was born.
Nigel Mason, who acting the MD of marketing and comms role at TfL, on an interim basis, will now revert to his former role as group marketing director.
Earlier this year, TfL’s marketing and comms functions were merged (PRWeek, 30 March 2007) as the transport body invests nearly £10bn into modernising and extending the transport network by the end of the decade.
In the past year alone, TfL has seen a massive shake-up of its comms team.
