RNLI podcasts to win extra support
The RNLI has taken to podcasting in a bid to spread awareness of its work to a wider audience.
The Lifepod, available at RNLI.org.uk, features the charity's principal engineer Neil Chaplin discussing the development of its latest hi-spec all-weather lifeboat, the Tamar.
It also features TV and radio DJ Josette Lesser reporting from one of the new craft near the RNLI's Padstow boathouse.
Head of external comms Spencer Gammond said the podcast would offer a new perspective of the organisation.
‘Hopefully it will encourage people who depend on our crews' help to support us,' he said.
Last year, the RNLI announced plans to supply broadcasters with footage to ‘bring the drama of a rescue into people's front rooms' (PRWeek, 19 August 2005).
