Octopus snaps up McAfee account
David Quainton 12-Jan-06
McAfee has drafted in Octopus Public Relations to reposition it as an all-encompassing digital security firm.
Known for its anti-virus products, McAfee recently extended its portfolio to include spyware and wireless security products.
Octopus beat The Red Consultancy, Nelson Bostock Communications and Catalysis to secure the brief.
Red, which took on an interim role last October after Bite Communications resigned the brief to work for Symantec, remains McAfee's global consumer agency.
McAfee northern and southern Europe PR manager Nick Bowman said he preferred a smaller agency.
