Brighter secures deal for Compass
Sarah Robertson 20-Oct-05
The Brighter Group has bought fellow travel specialist Compass PR and plans to position it as a sub-brand targeting ‘budget’ travel clients.
Compass MD Jane Richards – who actually worked for Brighter for three years until 1998 – joins the Brighter board in a newly created role of client services director, reporting to Brighter MD Steve Dunne.
Compass will be a wholly owned subsidiary of Brighter.
Its accounts, including Hertz and The Travel Company, which it has
held for eight and seven years respectively, will transfer to Brighter but will be handled under the Compass banner.
'Some clients need corporate repositioning and some clients just want bread-and-butter PR so it makes sense to keep the brands separate,' said Dunne.
Compass's four staff will move into Brighter's west London offices, creating a total of 25 employees at the agency.
