Ash wins regulatory affairs brief
Kelly Blaney: Ash Healthcare associate director
Gemma O'Reilly 06-Oct-08
Ash Healthcare has been brought on board by The Organisation for Professionals in Regulatory Affairs (TOPRA) to help promote the profession.
The organisation represents those working in regulatory affairs in the healthcare sector. It has appointed Ash to handle its communications for the next three years.
Regulatory affairs (RA) as a career was formed as a result of the birth of the modern pharmaceutical regulations, following the tragedy of the Thalidomide case in the 1950s and 1960s. It helps to give assurance that medication today is safe and effective.
RA professionals' main function is to obtain and maintain the authorisations for companies to market medicinal products.
The account will be headed up by Ash associate director Kelly Blaney.
'Communications activities over the next three years will position TOPRA as the must-belong to global organisation for all regulatory professionals,' said Blaney. ‘They will also aim to increase the understanding of regulatory affairs throughout the healthcare industry and encourage new people into the profession.'
