COI spends £11.2m on PR

The Central Office of Information has published its annual report, revealing that it spent £29.3m on PR and sponsorship during 2007-08, a 28 per cent increase. £11.2m of this was purely for PR.
The overall sum is an increase of 28.5 per cent on the previous year's £22.7million. Meanwhile, spend on advertising for 2007-08 was £167,644.
The report also revealed that the COI's News Distribution Service issued 13,553 press releases during 2007-08 and COI chief executive Alan Bishop was paid £165,000 to 170,000.
